This week we’re taking it back to the fundamentals of practice growth.
Whether it’s sports, business, or any other discipline in life, it’s absolutely essential to know the fundamentals.
You can still grow without them, but you’ll eventually hit a ceiling.
And as someone who might have rent, payroll, and a mortgage to pay, you don’t want to hit that ceiling.
That’s why in this episode, I continue to answer some questions in hopes of giving you more foundational knowledge on business growth:
“How do chiros go about setting a price when dealing with hardship cases?”
“When changing fees, how do you bring it up to existing patients?”
“When first starting, how do you know what hours to have available?”
These are some of the toughest questions I had to answer when I was first starting out.
So if you’re in that 0-15k range, this episode is for you.
Give it a listen and go implement it.
It’s that simple!

“The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your questions”
That’s one of my favorite sayings, you know why?
Because on my path towards success it’s proven to be so true…
This is why I spend so much time answering the questions our listeners send in.
The better they are, the more value they will bring to our community.
So this week I’m answering these two:
- “As a new grad, how do I cultivate productive relationships to become valuable to my employer?”
- “What aspects of patient experience are most important to improve patient retention?”
I like them, they’re complex and nuanced. They require detailed answers.
Which means more value for you as a rehab chiro.
The better your questions are, the more you will grow.
Whether it’s personally or professionally!

This week is a continuation of trying to give you the information I wish had when I was starting my rehab clinic.
These aren’t only some of my most frequently asked questions but some of the most essential questions a rehab chiro needs to have answered.
Here are the questions I answer:
Is it valuable to start on a personal brand on social media before starting your own business?
What platforms are best to find networking opportunities in your community?
What marketing is best or should I do marketing if I'm an associate in school?
Whether it’s networking or your personal brand it’s important to know that one size doesn’t fit all.
Some of you will have to use different tactics to get to the goals you want to achieve. But the principles will remain the same.
So be sure to listen closely because these answers have nuances to them that you should cater to your specific situation.
They are dependent on what vision you see for yourself and your practice.

One of my goals as a business coach is to give you guys the information I wish I had when I was starting my rehab clinic.
By doing this I can save you…
Time
Energy
Money
And headaches
But with all this information comes the questions people have about how to implement these ideas.
So in this episode I answer some of the really good questions I got from a group of students in our community:
How do you justify the increase of your prices?
What are some niches you’ve seen blow up in recent years?
Thoughts on ways to save time writing SOP notes?
This way I can fast track the learning process and hopefully save you guys even more time, money, and energy.
So give it a listen, there’s a good chance you’ll get some questions answered.

“What motivates you to work hard and be creative?”
I recently got this question from one of our members, it really made me think.
And it's such a good one I had to think about it for a few weeks.
What drives me?
Well, I came up with the best answer I could think of.
So in this episode, I tell a story from my life that taught me a lot about myself and what my driver is.
I initially thought my motivation may have been one of these:
Time
Money
Respect
But it wasn’t until I reflected on life before I had my business was I able to learn what my true motivation was.
So after listening, I want you to think and reflect on what your motivation is.
I’m sure you’ll learn a lot from the answer.

This week's episode is actually a repost from my first podcast ever.
But it isn’t to be lazy. It’s because this episode has so much value, and since most of my listeners are new I know you haven’t heard it yet.
It actually covers the most frequently asked question I get.
“What is the best way to quickly grow and scale your rehab chiro practice?”
So in this episode, I discuss:
The answer to this question
How to do it well
Why it’s the best way
No matter which path you take to growing your business you need to understand how to communicate your value and services to potential clients.
I would consider that the overarching theme of this episode.
Because it’s the fundamental business skills like these, that create long-term successful practices.

I was in a room with a dozen healthcare entrepreneurs with a collective worth of over 15 million dollars…
But this isn’t to brag, it’s actually so I could tell you what I learned.
So in this episode, I go through the 5 lessons I learned from my CEO group this past week.
They are as follows:
Your business is missing a dependable person
Growth doesn’t always mean revenue
Scaling marketing is about becoming a media company
The four stages of growth
Most people stop because they are bored
I break down these valuable lessons in the context of a rehab chiro.
These are million-dollar lessons so I hope you enjoy getting them for free…

I’m taking a month-long break from my business just to see if it’s actually good…
They say the only way you know if you have a real business is if the owner could take a four week-long vacation and the business can still run on its own.
Well I’m going to test this theory.
But before I go, I need to get some things in order of course. I can’t just disappear on my employees.
So in this episode I’m going to show you what a marketing meeting at my practice is like.
Specifically a marketing meeting before the boss leaves for a month-long vacation.
I talk with one of my clinicians, Kaylie. She is going to act as the marketing director of a seven-figure practice while I’m gone.
We discuss:
Planned marketing events
Execution of marketing units
Potential problems
How to manage time with tasks
Obviously I’ve never done this before and I’m interested in how it goes.
But another reason why I’m doing it is because I’m incredibly confident in my team.
We’ve spent countless hours working on this practice together. I know their skill sets and capabilities. They’re ready!
So I know you'll learn valuable information from my conversation with Kaylie. We both take our marketing extremely seriously.

This may be our most valuable podcast yet…
In this episode, I interview James Pratt, owner of Pratt Performance. He is not only a gym trainer and owner. But James also works directly with my practice helping us run workshops and referring clients to our practice.
We’re going to give you insight into the working relationship between a practitioner and a gym owner.
We discuss:
James’ entrepreneurial journey from trainer to business owner
His thoughts on why a trainer might not want to work with a Rehab Chiro
How does he refer people to a cash-based practice?
You’ll see that principles like reciprocity and transparency are essential to the success of our relationship.
Above all, I hope this episode gives you a framework on how to generate and build valuable relationships with people in your area.

When I get out of school what are some side hustles I should think about?
This is a question I get a lot.
And I bring it up because if you are going to be a successful chiropractor and business owner, then you shouldn’t be focusing on a side hustle.
Don’t get me wrong, it comes from a great place. Getting a side hustle shows ambition and the willingness to work hard.
But with a side hustle, your main hustle will suffer.
That’s why in this episode I talk about:
Why keeping focused one thing, my goal of building a successful practice is the reason it’s so successful
Keep the main thing, the main thing.
Look, when I first started out my business was terrible at sales and marketing. There were years where nothing good actually happened.
It was slim pickings when it came to getting leads.
But I kept my head down and kept working. I kept building on the one thing I was focused on, even though it would’ve been a lot easier to quit.
It’s hard to do what we do and things will continue to get harder for us. But the more you focus on the hard things, the better you’ll get at doing them. And the more your business will progress because of it.

Your unanswered questions are what’s keeping your business from soaring to new heights, and this may be your chance to get them answered.
