We have our first REPEAT guest on the podcast!! Dr. Jeremy holds the record for the most downloaded episode in the history of “Business School For The Rehab Chiropractor” so we brought him back for Round 2.
Jeremy has built a huge following of up and coming rehab chiros and most importantly he has a business to back up the advice he gives. In this episode, we dive deep into the most frequently asked questions he gets from new rehab chiropractors so we can address them once and for all!
Jeremy is one of the founding members of the Rehab Chiropractic Mastermind and his business has more than doubled since joining. He shows up every week to our live calls, asks questions, and implements. If we had 100 of Jeremy, we’d take over the chiropractic profession, fast!
If you want to go on the same journey as Jeremy here’s his learning path:

Dr. Alex Early is the founder of Active Health and Restoration located in Carol Stream, Illinois as well as Midwest Rehabilitation Institute.
If you are a rehab chiro, you are probably familiar with Alex as Midwest offers continuing education courses in everything from sports rehab to dry needling and so much more. But since this is a business podcast, I was fascinated to dive deep into how Midwest got started.
To give a brief history: Alex started Midwest while still a student. In the greatest marketing lesson of all time, Alex had a need for himself (gaining access to course work to get a sports diplomate) and saw how hard it was to gain access to those courses…so he created it himself!
In this episode we dive deep into how Alex manages two businesses and the pitfalls he has seen over the years. So many rehab chiros get their hands in many different pots and never build one thing to become special. Alex has built two…so take his advice and learn from his wins AND losses.

In this episode, I interview Dr. Shannon Connolly who practices in Middletown, New Jersey, and part-time in New York City. This episode is especially relevant for the rehab chiros out there thinking about or who already have multiple locations.
Shannon discusses the benefits and drawbacks of practicing in multiple spots and how she made the decision to finally focus on one location.
Shannon was an inaugural member of our Rehab Mastermind program and when I met her, she was so frustrated with her business, she was thinking about getting out of the profession altogether. It’s a cautionary tale with a happy ending because she is absolutely loving the business now and is excited for growth again.
If you want to go on the same journey as Shannon, here’s her learning path:

In this solo episode, Justin answers the most asked question, “Should I take cash or insurance?”
The answer may surprise you as it’s not such an easy answer. In order to run a successful business, most questions like this involve significantly more thought and direction than simply answering the question directly.
If you are about to start a practice and have this question or are already in practice and wonder if you should make a change, you should first consider the upside and downside of each. Unfortunately, many make this decision based strictly on emotion and often regret the decision they make.
Justin breaks down the upside and downside of both.

In this episode, I interview Dr. Jake Altman who has practice locations on Long Island and Manhattan, NY. With locations in two of the hardest-hit areas with COVID, it’s remarkable that Jake came out with his business intact.
As the dust settled, however, it became clear that after almost six years in his own business, things needed to change in order for the practice to grow both financially and in scale.
Jake was officially the first member of our Rehab Chiropractic Mastermind. After a few months in the program, Jake said, “I looked in the bank account and I was surprised…in a good way!” That’s exactly what we are doing in the Rehab Chiropractic Mastermind. You’ll grow your business financially, grow yourself as a person, and love your business more than you ever thought possible!
In this episode we talk about how to create an onboarding system, why it’s made his life easier doing so, and how he is now getting even better patient outcomes with the systems we’ve implemented.
If you want to go on the same journey as Jake, here’s his learning path:

In this episode, Justin attacks the false belief so many Rehab Chiropractors have about growth and scale of a practice. Most Rehab Chiropractors believe growth comes in the form of bigger space and more treatment rooms. And while this is a form of growth, many do this first and end up getting stuck.
But, there’s another way to grow and that’s with people. Most Rehab Chiropractors never get their business beyond themselves. But, any real business growth comes from the team you surround yourself with.
The biggest issue is oftentimes, we sign a lease or purchase a building with hopes that one day we fill it up. And because we never did the first thing, grow the team, we can never actually fill up the space like we intended.

Have you ever been so frustrated with the insurance reimbursement that you wanted to tell the insurance company to kiss your you-know-what? We’ve all been there.
In this episode Justin talks about how NOT dropping the lowest paying insurance company is likely due to fear of rejection. Justin firmly believes in understanding the ‘Why’ behind some of the decisions we make as business owners, and this is CLEARLY one of them.
In fact, Justin compares not dropping the lowest paying insurance company to your child thinking monsters are living in their closet. Listen to learn more.

Mastermind Series: Practicing Exactly How You Want AND Running A World Class Business (with Dr. George Nicolopoulos of Spine and Sport Center of Chicago)
We received so much positive feedback from our first Mastermind series interview that we decided to do it again. This time it’s with Dr. George Nicolopoulos out of Chicago.
I met George through a mutual friend who said George already has a successful practice but was looking for more help on the business side of things. And for many of you students or associates, this episode is perfect for you because it answers the most common question I get: Should I start my own office or purchase an existing office?
George purchased an office in downtown Chicago and during this episode we speak to both the positives and negatives of doing this. More importantly, George talks about the changes he’s made since enrolling in our Chiro Business 101 program.
Since George already had a team, the biggest change for him was implementing core values and instilling a culture in the business. In addition, he talks about how since taking the course, he’s been able to take another day off during the week essentially buying his time back.
Most importantly, George talks about how much happier and fulfilled he is now that he has the tool and knowledge from Chiro Biz 101. We talk about all these things and so much more.
George’s learning path with me: Chiro Biz 101

In this episode Justin talks about his experience being ‘sold to’ and how you can ‘work’ without ever ‘working’. Even though we are Rehab Chiropractors and private practice owners, we are also consumers in our everyday lives. We are constantly bombarded with sales and marketing messages, some of which we respond to, and some we HATE. Sometimes, the best way to learn is to be on the other end and be the consumer!
