The fastest and cheapest way to build your rehab chiropractic practice at the start is through joint ventures. This is another clip from our Jersey Shore Pop Up event where we take a question from the audience regarding joint venture relationships.
Specifically, this episode is about how to message properly when dealing with a strength and conditioning facility. A rehab chiro can use a gym relationship in two ways. First, it can be an amazing asset to their practice and really help it grow. Second, it can be perceived as competition as the gym facility won’t do business with you.

In this episode, I talk about developing an organizational chart. This chart allows us to simplify every role and responsibility in the business from sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
Most chiropractors get stuck solo because they simply don’t respect the org chart. In other words, they never build out the departments of the company other than operations (chiros and admins). Even worse, most chiropractors typically get busy and the first hire they make is another chiropractor. This simply will not work and this can all be traced back to not filling out an org chart.
The 4 departments of any business:
Marketing
Sales
Operations
Finance
This is agnostic and every business in the world needs this.

In this episode, I talk about how to do the math regarding your hourly rate. Most of us in the rehab chiro world simply consider how much we make from treating a patient. But the reality is, the only way your business will grow and scale is if your hourly rate increases.
However, the hourly rate of treating a patient is NOT what I’m talking about. In this specific episode, I discuss exactly how to calculate your hourly rate for the activity surrounding everything BUT treating a patient.
If you can wrap your head around this calculation, you’ll be on your way to a wildly successful practice.

Money.
So many of us have grown up with internal money issues. We either spend too much, don’t invest in the right things, grow up without it, or are afraid to ask others for it. The problem is that if it’s not addressed it will continue to plague you in your business career and leave you broke and frustrated.
Before you can do all the rehab you want as a chiropractor, you have to be able to ask people to pay for your service. Working for free is an act of nobility and stupidity. And even worse, is working for too little money.

In this solo episode, Justin discusses the concept of input and output in business.
So many business owners look for something new and quick to fix the business or make more money but in most cases, it’s simply that their input matches their output.
Oftentimes, the strategy is correct but the amount necessary to get the result is not. Specifically, members of the Rehab Chiro Mastermind program are given the skills and tools for success and then just have to go and DO IT, many times.
Think of something like past patient follow-up. Many people will do it only when they are slow when the reality is, patient follow-ups should happen all the time, no matter how busy or slow the business owner is.
Learning lessons like this will propel your business forward and prevent you from getting stuck and frustrated.

In this episode, I interview Dr. Matt Clay of Loudoun County, Virginia about his journey of going from a new grad clinic manager to an associate to an entrepreneur and a clinic owner.
Matt originally reached out to our Google Ads agency to help him increase his marketing but I wouldn’t take him on for that because I didn’t think he had the back-end business systems to get the ROI.
He ended up joining our coaching program and has become one of our most successful students. Since joining he has hired his first team member and is now in the process of building a golf performance side of the business.

In this solo episode, Justin talks about the constant frustration among Rehab Chiropractors…that school didn’t teach business. Justin doesn’t believe school should be in the business of teaching business. And even if they did, does anyone think they would do a good job?
To be honest, most students in chiropractic college aren’t even in the mental frame to LEARN business so we should all probably get over ourselves and recognize that learning business skills is just like learning rehab skills…ALL of it will happen outside of chiropractic school.
Respecting the laws of business and thinking of the different departments your business has can really help. In this episode, Justin breaks down the different departments of a business that you MUST understand in order to grow and be successful.
